Missouri REALTORS report continued housing market growth in January
Missouri’s real estate market experienced improved health in the housing market an increase in property selling prices in 2014, according to the Missouri REALTORS Report.
Data collected by the group, comparing January 2015 to January 2014, shows improvements in median and average home sale price and a three-day decrease in the average time houses spend on the market.
The exact numbers: a five percent rise in average price, from $147,206 last year to $154,543; a 4.7 percent increase in median price, from $117,000 to $122,532; and a decrease in time spent on the market from 137 days to 134. The report also included a 2.4 percent decrease in homes sold in January, when compared to January 2014.
The report showed a slight decrease in the median and average home sale price from December 2014 to January 2015.
The National Association of Realtors, the national group affiliated with Missouri REALTORS, is the largest trade association in America. The data that the organization reports is gathered through its Multiple Listing Services system, which is used by real estate agents across the country.
