Volunteers will join ‘Blitz’ to build 10 houses in just 4 days

The Blitz Build for Habitat for Humanity gets started Tuesday as Blitz Home Builders, along with hundreds of volunteers, will build four houses in 10 days.

COMO Magazine first reported about the ambitious undertaking with this story, Home Sweet Habitat, in the June 2023 real estate issue.

The event already has scheduled a dedication celebration for 11 a.m. Friday, September 29, in the Boone Prairie Subdivision across from 3909 Brown Station Road.

Sponsoring organizations include Veterans United, Equipment Share, Mid-City Lumber, Broadway Christian Church, and many others that are providing financial support and volunteers. hakespeare’s Pizza will celebrate its 50th anniversary by hosting a pizza party on-site for the attendees at the dedication celebration.

Homeowners in the Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Program provide at least 250 hours of sweat equity helping build their house, as well as pay a zero-interest mortgage for the amount it costs Habitat to build their home with volunteer labor.
