The District’s annual Dog Days Sidewalk Sale is back through the weekend.
Retailers in downtown COMO are putting their products on sale on the sidewalks outside of their storefronts at deeply discounted prices. Walk from shop to shop scooping up the best deals you’ll find all year.
Parking in downtown garages is free after 5 p.m. and all weekend long. Come out and eat, shop, and discover The District.
It’s the grand opening of Midway Golf and Games, Toptracer Golf, and 44 Tavern.
Get ready for a great day of golf, live music, fireworks, and delicious food at the Midway Golf | Games| Events | 44 Tavern grand opening.
- Reserve a spot at the brand-new Toptracer hitting bays for some golfing fun and a chance to try out the new food and drink menu from 44Tavern. Thirty-minute increments are available to book online.
- Play any of the outdoor attractions and join everyone on the lawn for Voo Doo Sno Cone from 5-9 p.m. and Lilly’s Cantina food truck beginning at 7 p.m.
- As the evening progresses, dance and sing along to the lively tunes of the Shiloh Country Band in the Pavilion starting at 7:30 p.m.
- Bring a lawn chair to set up on the lawn. The outdoor bar will be open.
- Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri for Countdown to Kickoff: An Evening with Mizzou football Coach Eli Drinkwitz in the Tavern Hall Banquet room at at 5:30 p.m. Purchase Countdown to Kickoff tickets here.
- Fireworks on the driving range at 9:15 p.m. will light up the sky. Bring a lawn chair.
- Please note that no outside food or drink is permitted.
COMO Brick Streets Tour, 10 a.m. Saturday. Join COMO Preservation on a walking tour of Columbia to explore some of the stories surrounding its founding and highlight its unique historic architecture. The approximate two-mile, two-hour stroll through downtown provides an engineer’s perspective on bricks on COMO: A discussion of what, how, and why of Columbia’s brick streets, brick making, and brick construction.
It’s a free event, but reservations are required. Get your free ticket here. Donations are appreciated. (COMO Preservation is a tax-exempt nonprofit; donations are tax-deductible.) Participants are encouraged to download a free smartphone app that will allow listening to the tour via your own earbuds.
The tour will begin on the sidewalk in front of the Broadway Hotel at 1111 E. Broadway.
The Disc Pro Golf Tour’s 2023 Mid America Open presented by Discraft returned to Columbia on Friday and will run through Sunday at the Harmony Bends Disc Golf Course at Strawn Park. The course is considered one of the top-rated disc golf courses in the country.
This year’s event marks the fifth year Columbia has hosted the Mid America Open, and the fourth year it has been a part of the pro tour. Over the years, 30 world champions and 33 Hall of Famers have attended the Mid America Open.
Spectators are welcome to attend the tournament and tickets can be purchased online.
