Valerie Zumwalt

Founder of Show Me Leaders Valerie Zumwalt has earned the Maxwell Method of DISC Behavioral Analysis Consultant accreditation. Using the applied principles of leadership expert John C. Maxwell, this assessment and training program helps individuals grow in awareness and understanding of topics like communication styles and growth potential. Zumwalt is a speaker, trainer, and coach with the John Maxwell Team.

Jacob Sirna

It was announced in March that Jacob Sirna will be the Rock Bridge High School principal for the 2019-2020 school year. Currently, he is the principal at Marshall High School and has worked at Muriel Battle and Oak Park high schools as well as Oakland Junior High School. At Truman State University, he earned his undergraduate degree in history and master’s degree in education.

Shelley Martin

Weichert, Realtors – First Tier introduced Shelley Martin as part of the team at their Columbia office. Weichert Real Estate Affiliates Inc. has offices in 38 states and serves 300 markets.

Robert Boone

Columbia College named Robert Boone associate vice president for Columbia College global-military. He will handle operations on Columbia College’s 18 locations on military installations nationwide. He served in the U.S. Army for 26 years and retired as a lieutenant colonel. He served as a training specialist at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital and has held multiple positions at FEMA

Steve Sweitzer

Kristen Brown, owner of Hoot Design Co., announced that Steve Sweitzer will be their resident creative director from March till the end of May. He will live in Columbia during his time at Hoot Design Co. “Steve is a well-known staple in the COMO community who has been gone for about four years,” Brown said via email.

Job Point Awards

At its annual banquet in February, Job Point awarded two individuals its Award of Excellence: James White, a housekeeper at Super 8 in Boonville, and Teron Wings, a laborer at Chester Bross Construction. Don Moore, director of IT at Job Point, earned Employee of the Year, and C&R Market was named Employer of the Year. Partner of the Year went to Atkins, and Dr. Roger L. Morrison earned Volunteer of the Year.

Lexi Stiles

Moresource, Inc. announced the hiring of Lexi Stiles, who has more than four years of insurance experience and is a licensed property and casualty producer. Stiles has a certified insurance service representative designation and is knowledgeable on social media strategy and graphic design, which she learned from her mom, who owned a marketing and design company.

Matt Frevert

MidwayUSA promoted Matt Frevert to merchandising manager for clothing and footwear. He started working for the company in August 2013. His new position will include overseeing sales, margins, and product selection for MidwayUSA’s clothing and footwear category. He earned a business administration degree from Columbia College. “As a hunter, outdoorsman, and user of our core products, I’m excited to continue to offer our customers a great selection of clothing and footwear from their favorite brands,” Frevert said in a press release.
