Post-graduation plans:

I will be doing a lot of traveling this summer, as current plans are to spend time in South Dakota and Virginia before taking a tour of Europe with my grandparents. I will then be kicking off my college career at Mizzou in August.

Favorite class in high school:

Math — one of my teachers in particular made it fun, but I like that there is always a definite right or wrong answer.

Proudest accomplishment in high school:

My high school soccer team won the MCSAA state championship the last two years. I loved how we came together and fought until the end. My high school soccer career was highlighted by being selected as an All-State performer all four years.

Biggest lesson learned in high school:

That my successes and achievements are a result of giving my best effort, always working hard, and persevering, but more importantly, having people around to love and support me. Regardless of whether life is easy or difficult, I never want to walk through it alone.

Future goals:

I just graduated! I need a little breather. I don’t really have any grand goals . . . yet. I am 17 and have a little time to get some things figured out.

What you do for fun:

I LOVE to read. One of my favorite things to do is to get lost in a big bookstore. Hours can fly by as I look at all the wonderful books and wonder which one I should read next. I also love my friends and the time spent with them.

CBT’s 20 Under 20 celebrates 20 Columbia high school seniors who are ready to accomplish big things after graduating. Congratulations to the 2016 20 Under 20, and to all Columbia high school grads.
