The Columbia Chamber of Commerce named Crockett Engineering the 2012 Small Business of the Year during a luncheon Friday, May 11, at The Tiger Hotel.

The four other finalists for the award included Baer & Edington LLC, Concannon Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, Mid-America Harley-Davidson and Woodcrest Chapel.

“We’re just really appreciative of the chamber,” said Tim Crockett, president of Crockett Engineering. “We are proud of our employees. This is not an individual award, but a company award. Day in and day out, they do excellent work.”

The award ceremony was part of the Chamber’s 2012 Small Business Week, which was presented by Williams-Keepers LLC. Other sponsors were Columbia Area Career Center, FASTSIGNS, Jack-FM, KRCG, Missouri Employers Mutual, Midway Electric Inc., and KMOS-TV Mid-Missouri PBS.

The Small Business of the Year Award luncheon was presented by Boone County National Bank and featured speaker Tony Richards of Clear Vision Development Group, an organization that provides businesses with leadership and development coaching.
