Real estate brokerage Reece & Nichols Mid Missouri expects to close on a deal to acquire Plaza Real Estate later this week, according to an agent with the franchise.
John Gage, the owner of the Columbia and Centralia franchises of Kansas City-based Reece & Nichols, will become the majority owner of Plaza Real Estate. Scott Griffin will be minority owner and designated Realtor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Plaza’s agents will be absorbed by Reece & Nichols Columbia, and the Plaza office on Bernadette will continue operating, Griffin said.
“We are excited to be part of a company that has a great sense of trust within the community,” Griffin said.
The acquisition will increase the number of agents at Reece & Nichols from about 12 to near 45, Griffin said. Paul Land, who headed Plaza’s commercial division, will maintain the Plaza Commercial name and work independently.
