The Boone County Commission intends to appoint Bob Wagner, President and CEO of Columbia Insurance Group, to an open seat on the Boone Hospital Center Board of Trustees.
The commissioners will make the appointment during their regular meeting on Thursday, according to an e-mail commission Secretary Jessica Sapp wrote to Columbia Business Times.
The seat opened in April when hospital board chairman Bob McDavid was elected mayor of Columbia. Wagner will serve until next April’s elections, when voters will choose a board member to serve a full five-year term, from 2011-2016.
Last Friday, the Boone County Commission and members of the Boone Hospital Board of Trustees met with the final three candidates for the vacant seat. The other finalists were Quinton Ditmore, a retired neurologist, and Joseph Miller, senior vice-president of commercial lending at Commerce Bank. The hospital board’s next meeting is on Monday.
