Beth joined the Business Times Company team in January of 2017 to serve as the editor of COMO Living magazine. She now serves as the editorial director of COMO. Here’s a little more about who she is and what she cares about.

Older than I look (or so I’m told!). 48.
I create and manage the content for COMO Living’s print magazine, blog, and social media.
Years lived in mid-Missouri:
Since starting college at MU in 1987.
Favorite community activity:
Hanging out at the True/False Film Festival.
I’m a trained journalist and spent 25 years on the staff of Woodcrest Chapel using my relational, strategic, and communication skills to help people take the next step in their spiritual journey. I’ve also been a freelance writer for COMO Living and Columbia Business Times since 2015.
Favorite thing about my job:
Spending my days being creative and sharing people’s stories.
Why I’m passionate about my company:
I am inspired by the way the Business Times Company is connected to this community and cares about its businesses and people.
Favorite mid-Missouri restaurant:
Eating at Flat Branch on the patio!
Someone I admire and why:
I have been helped in recent years by the work of sociologist Brené Brown. Her work in understanding the relationship between courage and fear, and her challenge to be vulnerable, is empowering to me as a female leader.
Reading novels and listening to Eric Church.
Pink. Yes, pink!
If I weren’t doing this for a living, I would:
Travel the world. Switzerland is next on my list!
My next goal:
Increasing our online engagement with the magazine.
Wife to Chris and mother of boys.
Most people don’t know that I:
I can’t ride a horse . . . or a bike.
