Behind the Scenes: Medical Issue

MedicalCoding-ICD-10-Opener

I do all the copyediting for CBT — combing through the articles to check for spelling, grammar, style, etc. That means I read everything in here again… and again… and again. And, after spending so many hours with the magazine, I still inevitably miss something.

But I’m not complaining, especially not about our February issue. This was the first issue in 10 months that I wasn’t writing anything, which means I got to spend extra time reading and talking with our writers, figuring out how we could make each article great.

Here’s how the process usually works: our writers send their article to Brenna, who reads them and sends them to me, and then I go back-and-forth with the writers about how we can tweak and make improvements. As one of our writers, I can tell you this is a sensitive process — I can be pretty annoying.

But it makes me all the more proud when we turn out fantastic writing, like we did this month. I encourage you to check out all of our features for February. Take some time out of your day and read with us. Our writers have to put up with me, so they deserve it.

P.S. — If you catch any grammar mistakes, holler and let me know.
