Midwest Computech named Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winner
For the fifth consecutive year, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has named Midwest Computech a 2015 Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winner. Midwest Computech represents the only Missouri based business selected for the award.
“This award is not just about demonstrating growth or profitability, but instead it is based on how we consciously decide to run our business on a daily basis,” said Midwest Computech CEO David Nivens.
The Blue Ribbon Small Business Awards is a program that recognizes companies for their success and innovation and for their contributions to economic growth and free enterprise.
“While our economy still struggles to reach its full potential, small businesses like our Blue Ribbon Award winners have continued to act as examples of the resilience, ingenuity, and opportunity at work in the free enterprise system,” said U.S. Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue, according to a press release. “Times can be tough, but these businesses have proven that they can be too. And by taking risks, watching out for their employees, and giving back to their communities, they’ve shown that success is achievable.”
Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winners are selected from applicants across the nation and are evaluated in four key areas: strategic planning, employee development, community involvement and customer service.
“I feel some of the reasons we have continued to be appealing to the judging committee (which changes from year to year) includes our commitment to a team centered environment, our high customer service standards, our dedication to employee retention with competitive salaries and ongoing training/certification and our industry innovation,” said Nivens.
The company, founded in 1982, prides itself in being the area’s trusted IT advisor. Midwest Computech focuses on IT solutions for the business, education, financial, non-profit, government and healthcare fields. They offer IT consulting, management, and security.
All of this year’s winners will be honored at the 11th annual America’s Small Business Summit, taking place June 8-10 in Washington D.C. At the summit, the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Sam’s Club, will be awarded to one regional finalist (which will be selected on March 8), along with a $10,000 cash prize courtesy of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
