Raul Recarey has announced his resignation as president and CEO of the Missouri Health Connection (MHC) after serving eight months as head ofMissouri’s statewide health information network.
“This was not an easy decision for me to make, Recarey said in a press release. “Health care is undergoing enormous and continuous transformation, and the best path forward is not a clearly defined road. After much thought and consideration, I believe I have made the best decision for my family, the organization and the state of Missouri.”
Recarey led the organization with a $13.8 million federal grant that Missouri received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to develop a health information exchange. Prior to joining MHC he served as the chief operations officer for the West Virginia Health Information Network.
Recarey said the finance team “is very close to narrowing down the final fee structure that will generate the revenue to sustain the core infrastructure” of the exchange beyond the grant funding provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
