Jocelyn Knaebel

Vice President, Bucket Media, Inc. – Age: 26

In 1999 Jocelyn Knaebel moved from her family farm in Lucerne, Mo., to attend the University of Missouri–Columbia. In July 2002, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness management in only three years, she joined Cumulus Broadcasting/Premier Marketing Group as an associate marketing consultant and was promoted to marketing consultant in April of 2003.
In 2006 Knaebel worked at Woodruff Sweitzer advertising agency as an account executive for six months. Shortly thereafter she and her partners, Keri Tipton and Michele Cropp, started their own media buying business, Bucket Media.
“Jocelyn strives to be the best at everything does and has a great competitive spirit that motivates and inspires others,” said Tipton, president of Bucket Media.
Knaebel met Jeff, the love of her life, shortly after graduation from MU, and they were married in August 2006. In her time away from work, Knaebel enjoys golfing, skiing, traveling and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Mizzou Tigers.
“For years the University of Missouri-Columbia has been attracting the brightest students from across Missouri. Our community could benefit from implementing more mentoring programs for these students to help them realize how much the city has to offer for their future careers,” said Knaebel. “Only 17.5 percent of MU graduates between 2004 and 2006 have obtained careers in Columbia. As mentors we should help students realize that Columbia is more than just a great place to go to college.”
Knaebel strives to volunteer her time and talents in both Jefferson City and Columbia. Currently her involvement efforts include the Rainbow House board of directors, the Rainbow House public relations committee, the Mid Missouri Advertising Federation, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Total Resource Campaign, the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce, the Jefferson City Area United Way fund-raising committee and the Children’s Miracle Network/KPLA for Kids Radiothon.
