When you think about the end of the year and the steady lineup of holidays that follow, it’s easy to picture the changing decor — jack-o’-lanterns on porches, a cornucopia wreath on the door, and miniature wire reindeer waiting for takeoff. There’s no better way to show excitement for the season than by dressing up your doorstep.
But keeping up with it all can be tricky. Not everyone has time to go all out just to change decorations a few weeks later, and added stress surrounding decoration can zap the fun out of the holiday. That’s where Patch & Porch, a new fall display business, comes in.
Run by friends Jori Rose and Kristin Witt, Patch & Porch delivers, styles, and removes custom pumpkin displays for homes.
“We’ve built relationships with a mix of local farmers that Kristin knows from living in Bunceton, as well as Kristin’s dad, who owns a pumpkin patch in southwest Missouri,” Rose says. “We also source from the Central Missouri Produce Auction.”
Customers can pick from a range of Patch & Porch packages like The Pumpkin Lover, The Fall Fanatic, and The Autumn Addict, each more detailed than the last, with a range of eighteen premium pumpkins to thirty-eight pumpkins and hay bales across packages. The setups are personally customized and carefully curated to fit the client’s space, taking into account color preferences, favorite pumpkin varieties, and the home’s exterior.

“Our goal is to create a display that not only pleases the homeowner but also has curb appeal for the whole neighborhood,” Rose adds.
Since starting the business, they’ve already witnessed a significant response across mid-Missouri, beginning after a segment about porch decorating was featured on The Today Show in September. Thankfully, the owners have supportive family members who are more than willing to help pull the weight on helping with setup.
“As we’ve talked to more people about what we do, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. So many local friends and businesses have helped spread the word, and the community support has been incredible,” says Rose.
Porches can be decorated whenever it’s most convenient — and no one even needs to be home when it happens. Columbia also receives complimentary delivery.
