Culinary tours of Columbia begin with new business

Kerri Linder saw potential for a new business venture while taking culinary tours of cities she’s visited. A self-professed foodie and Columbia history buff, she decided to start Columbia Culinary Tours.

“Columbia is a constantly growing city, and the time is right to introduce locals and visitors alike to the amazing flavors offered in its downtown area,” she said. “Our tours are a food and social experience for those who are new to town or those who grew up here—we have a tour for everyone who loves food and learning more about Columbia.”

The walking tours last between two and three hours and include stops at several downtowns restaurants.

“The tour took me to places I pass every day and never venture inside to see, and for that I am very thankful,” said Jim Flink, a tour participant. “Ultimately, the thing I loved the most was the passion shared by these very cool proprietors. Hearing their stories was inspiring (and the food, excellent!).”

The three tours, brunch, flavors and night on the town, can be made online here. Private tours for groups are also available for booking.
