Tec Chapman

Chapman, a public policy leader and lifelong advocate for individuals with disabilities, joins Services for Independent Living as executive director. Chapman will guide the agency in its work to empower people to live independently through advocacy work, teaching independent living skills, peer support and information and referral services in a seven-county service area.
 

Bill Stuby

Stuby, procurement specialist with the Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Centers’ sister program, the Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center, has been named a fellow of the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers.

APTAC has only named seven fellows in the past 15 years, an honor reserved for individuals within the PTAC system who have shown extraordinary service in the field of government contracting.

Brenda Hunter

Hunter has been promoted to lead residential real estate originator and assistant vice president of Commerce Bank’s Central Missouri Region.

Hunter has 36 years of banking experience and is a 2004 graduate of American
InterContinental University, where she received an Associate of Arts degree in business administration. She is a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors and is an active member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, including a current participant of the Chamber’s 2013 Leadership Columbia program.

Shubhra Gangopadhyay

The C.W. LaPierre Endowed Chair professor of electrical and computer engineering and physics at the University of Missouri was recently named one of Ingram’s “50 Missourians You Should Know” for 2013.

As director of the MU International Center for Nano/Micro Systems and Nanotechnology, Gangopadhyay’s research interests focus on the applications of nanotechnology in biosensors, electronics and energy.

Gerald T. Brouder

Columbia College trustees bestowed upon President Brouder the title of president emeritus.

“This is only the second time the trustees have honored a president with the title emeritus,” says Daisy Grossnickle, chair of the Columbia College Board of Trustees. “Dr. Brouder’s leadership has been invaluable to the success of the college for the past 18 years and has ensured a bright future.”

Noah D. Manring

Manring, the Glen A. Barton Professor of mechanical engineering, was appointed interim associate dean for research of the MU College of Engineering.

Stepping down from the associate dean position after a six-year tenure is C.W. LaPierre professor Sam Kiger, department chairman of civil and environmental engineering from 1996 to 2005. Kiger will return to his home department to concentrate on research and national-level projects.

Lori Rhoades

MidwayUSA promoted Rhoades, previously a MidwayUSA Web designer, to Internet advertising manager. In her new role, Rhoades will lead a team responsible for managing the Internet advertising process, which includes MidwayUSA’s online advertising initiatives as well as SEO and email marketing.

“Lori has been instrumental in the creation of several key website features and has proven herself as an invaluable, well-respected member of the team,” says Vice President of eCommerce Adam Ray. Rhoades is a graduate of Missouri State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design and illustration. She is also an NRA life member.
