Columbia Board of Realtors Announces 2013 Officers

Jerod Smothers
MidwayUSA announced the addition of Jerod Smothers to its merchandising department as product line manager. Smothers is a 2005 graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in finance and banking/real estate. Smothers went to MidwayUSA after working as a portfolio analyst with Landmark Bank.

Jan Cumbie
The Columbia Board of Realtors named Jan Cumbie as the 2012 Realtor Salesperson of the Year, an award that was developed to recognize one member holding a sales license who exemplifies outstanding leadership and participation in local board activities, ethics and cooperation, continuing education, community service, state activities and sales volume.

Cumbie has worked as a full-time Realtor with House of Brokers Realty since 2005. Prior to real estate she worked as a financial coordinator for an orthodontist and owned her own business.

Lauren Bondy
Claim Care Inc. announced the hiring of Lauren Bondy as administrator of the Local Tax Effort Billback and Public Placement Fund programs for school districts in the state of Missouri. Bondy is a recent MU graduate with a degree in agricultural education-leadership and a minor in agricultural economics.

Jeff Jones
Jones was named senior vice president and chief communications officer of The Callaway Bank. He joined the bank in 2005 as director of sales.

“As senior vice president, Jeff brings a very strong banking and sales background to the position of chief communications officer,” says Kim Barnes, president and chief operating officer of The Callaway Bank. “This new role will bring together several areas of responsibility within the bank to facilitate growth, sales and communications for the bank and allow us to better coordinate our approach across all areas of the bank. Matthew Vandelicht
The accounting firm of Miller, Bales & Cunningham PC announced Vandelicht successfully completed the necessary requirements to earn the Certified Public Accountant designation. He graduated from Central Methodist University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting.

Carolyn Mahoney
Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Mahoney of Jefferson City to the Coordinating Board for Higher Education. Mahoney served as president of Lincoln University in Jefferson City from 2005 until her retirement in 2012.

“Dr. Mahoney will bring an insightful perspective to the board that will benefit colleges and universities statewide,” says David Russell, commissioner of higher education.
