This new digital media production agency is all about people. The company’s goal is “to conceive, foster and maintain thorough connections with our clients and community.” Its services include print, video and film production. Echoing its people-valued brand position, the company also specializes in wedding video production.

2. La Terraza Mexican Grill
After two years of success at its Nifong location, La Terraza opened its second on Forum Boulevard. The restaurant offers a vast menu of authentic Mexican dishes at reasonable prices. The warm, rich décor takes the dining experience from simply eating a taco to eating a taco in the heart of the Southwest. La Terraza offers a condensed version of its menu for catered events in its private dining room or in off-site venues.

3. Hitt Records
The vinyl record shop opened above Ninth Street Video in September. Customers can trade in old records and browse the shelves for new titles. The store is open only three days a week, but demand is still high with the limited schedule. The small community of Columbia vinyl collectors is showing strong support; the business’ Facebook page has already garnered 450 likes.

4. ZOUCAB
Columbia’s new pedicab rental company, ZOUCAB, is perfect for football game days and offers a quick and convenient ride from your parking spot or downtown Columbia to Faurot Field. The fun and green transportation can be rented by day, weekend or week. ZOUCABS can also be used by organizations for fundraising events; wedding parties; or exploring downtown Columbia, its trails and the MU campus.

5. Cheddar’s Casual Café
Cheddar’s first opened in Arlington, Texas, in 1979 and has since expanded throughout the South and Midwest with more than 80 locations. The company does not advertise in any medium but, instead, relies on word of mouth. The Columbia location on I-70 Drive has been receiving fairly positive reviews, especially on the quality of its food and service. Some customers, however, expressed concern over the dimly lit dining room. “They took mood lighting to an extreme,” says Columbia resident and avid restaurant critic Sean Flanagan.

6. Chimaeric LLC
Chimaeric employees describe themselves as “storytellers dedicated to making your tale come to life.” They work primarily in motion media and produce high-quality brand promotional material. The company has already racked up a list of well-known clients such as University of Missouri Athletics, Callaway Bank and Boone Hospital.
