“Tiger” John Cleek Jr. wins Celebrity Tiger Jeopardy
Football Coach Gary Pinkel and organizers of the Missouri Tigers’ SCORE Against Hunger campaign came up with a new game plan for the Club Out Hunger luncheon, held Aug. 19 at Stoney Creek Inn.
Mike Kelly played the role of Alex Trebeck for the inaugural Celebrity Tiger Jeopardy. The contestants were Jet Roberts from The Closer’s show on KFRU, who was representing Downtown Rotary; Joe Walljasper, sports editor of the Columbia Daily Tribune, representing Kids First Optimist; former MU assistant football coach John Kadlec, representing Metro Rotary; Chris Gervino, sports director for KOMU representing South Rotary and John Cleek Jr. of Cleeks Rent to Own, representing Northwest Rotary, who won the contest.
Before the first kick-off of the season, over $400,000 has been raised through this campaign. All proceeds are used to provide free food to people in need through emergency food pantries, low-income children’s programs, shelters and soup kitchens.
