Outstanding Offices
Personal injury attorneys Wally Bley and Mark Pfeiffer decided to stop renting and buy an office a couple years ago when their friend Jon Sundvold told them about his financial service office at Woodrail Center, located behind the Nifong and Forum Boulevard intersection.
They bought the 4,000-square-foot unit next door, which had room for four offices, a library and a conference room, and they moved in May 2005.
Bley said he was content to keep the furniture from his old office on Cherry Street, but his wife, Cindy, insisted he head over to Marathon Office Interiors to get an upgrade.
It’s no surprise that Bley picked the color gold for the walls, done in a textured faux finish by Johnston Paint & Decorating, to go with the black leather couch and chairs in his Tiger den. Bley, who grew up in south St. Louis, also hung his framed 1977 undergraduate degree and 1980 law degree from MU on the walls. Among the Tiger sports memorabilia filling the shelves behind his desk is a commemorative basketball signed by players from the 1993-‘94 team that went 14-0 in the Big Eight.
And there’s a reason for the binoculars on sill of the south-facing window: A pair of coyotes periodically hunts in the empty field across the street.
