2007 Business Conference & Showcase set for March

Plans are under way for the annual Columbia Chamber of Commerce Business Conference and Showcase, to run 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 6 at the Holiday Inn Select Executive Center.

Along with an assortment of booths representing scores of local businesses and organizations, the event features six different business seminars, including presentations by high-profile speakers Mary Space of Space Communication Corporation and Dave Mattson of Sandler Sales Institute. Space will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon and Women’s Network ATHENA award presentation as well as the presenter of the seminar “The Influence Model and What Drives Memory.” Mattson will present an afternoon seminar called “Breaking Through Your Success Barriers.”

Other seminars include “Ergonomics: Creating a Safe and Comfortable Workplace,” led by consultant Fred Seaman; “Essential Hiring Techniques for Successful Maintenance and Growth” with Jeanie Kellar; and Midwest Computech’s “New Microsoft Workplace Technologies,” led by Sean Abbott.
For the first time, the event’s organizers plan to involve civic groups in the conference, inviting them to sell tickets in exchange for a share of the revenue.
