Alliance Water Resources takes control of Clay County’s water
Alliance Water Resources, headquartered in Columbia, recently acquired a new client: Clay County, water supply district six. Alliance will oversee all daily water operations for the district, which has more than 1,800 customers.
Taking care of Clay County’s water supply includes managing break repairs, keeping water systems up to code and providing resources to help the county. Also, Alliance will help the district in office management, including customer service, billing, meter readings and bookkeeping. Even though Alliance is stepping in to help the county, the district board will still be in charge of decision-making.
In the long run, Alliance hopes to make the work of the Clay County water supply district more efficient by updating its maps and improving its billing system.
“The ability to provide comprehensive services was very appealing,” said Louis Freeman, board president of district six. “Alliance can deliver the operations expertise we need, as well as internal services that fall under office management. We feel having all of this under one company will help the system run more smoothly, and will also empower Alliance to keep board members thoroughly informed.”
