THHinc, McClure Engineering announce merger
Columbia engineering consultation firm Trabue, Hansen and Hinshaw merged with Iowa-based McClure Engineering Company at the beginning of June. The company’s name is now THHinc-McClure Engineering Company.
Gene Hinshaw, President of THHinc, said those in the company are excited for this merger.
By merging the company with McClure, those at THHinc hope to offer more services in aviation, transportation,
water and wastewater systems.
“We’re excited to enhance our expertise, as well as deepen our knowledge base and skill set in our other engineering offerings,” Hinshaw said in a press release.
THHinc had about 25 employees, but the new merger means THHinc McClure will employ 90 to 100 people. The combined company will have seven locations throughout Iowa and Missouri.
The employees of THHinc are consulting engineers, which means they help companies with civil and structural engineering. Civil engineering includes engineering for roads, water systems, wastewater systems, subdivisions and other city-oriented projects. Structural engineering includes the design and structure of buildings. According to THHinc’s website, the company provides “quality technical solutions and personal service” to those they work with.
“It broadens the experience base and resources available to solve clients’ problems,” Hinshaw said of the merger.
While the company will be referred to as THHinc McClure in Missouri, the company will still be known as MEC in Iowa. The company will have Iowa offices in Fort Dodge, Des Moines, North Liberty, Cedar Rapids and Sioux City. In Missouri, the offices will be in Columbia and Lake Ozark.
