Sager Braudis, formerly PS Gallery, changes name to kick off summer season

Columbia art enthusiasts will now be referring to PS Gallery as Sager Braudis Gallery. The gallery debuted the new name at a Summer Exhibit Reception on June 5.

Formerly owned by Jennifer Perlow and Chris Stevens, the gallery has been under the co-ownership of Joel Sager and Scott Braudis since summer 2013. They wanted the name to reflect the gallery’s identity as a small, locally owned business; despite the change in ownership and name, employees stress that the gallery still retains its character.

“The renaming of the gallery is a reflection of our continued evolution as we work to broaden the scope of our efforts,” Gallery Director Stephanie Flakne said in a press release. “Although much of the character of the gallery remains the same, we felt like the change in direction necessitated formal acknowledgement.”

Located in Columbia’s North Village Arts District, the Sager Braudis Gallery’s seasonal exhibits feature an array of local, regional and even national artists. Last November, the gallery curated its inaugural Masters Exhibit, which showed original art by Picasso and Marc Chagall.

The 2015 Summer Exhibit Reception kicked off the summer art season at the gallery and showed off the new name. The exhibit showcased artwork across a range of mediums by award-winning artists like Dana Brown, Kristen Martincic, Ken Nichols, Tom Pfannerstill and Joel Sager. The 2015 Summer Exhibit will run through August 1. Sager Braudis Gallery is located at 1025 East Walnut.
