Power Lunch: After Hours

After holding a series of lunch forums in 2009, the Columbia Business Times and sponsor The Callaway Bank hosted a social event on Nov. 17 in the Tiger Hotel lobby for nearly 100 Power Lunch presenters and participants.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of a $1,000 donation to the Heart of Missouri United Way as part of Live United week, the organization’s final push to reach its fundraising goal.

The Callaway Bank President Gary Meyerpeter said he presented the award on behalf of all of the Power Lunch participants in an effort to give back to the community, which all of the local leaders strive to support and serve.

Power Lunch forums during the year addressed such topics as crime prevention and prosecution, promoting and nurturing the arts as an industry, developing the sports industry, finding ways for developers and neighborhoods to reach common ground and growing smarter.
