Wilson’s Fitness in the District
111 Orr St., 573-777-6700
The newest Wilson’s Fitness Center is scheduled to open in early December. Crews are renovating the lower level of the historic Berry Building at the northeast corner of Orr and Walnut streets that the fitness center is leasing. Meanwhile, the club has been signing up members, and 92 of the 1,200 discounted charter memberships were still available when Wilson’s held an open house on Oct. 23.
General Manager Tia Casady said the fitness club is geared for “late nighters and early risers” and will be open 24 hours Sunday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays.
The facility has two studios and will hold traditional group exercise and cardio strength classes as well as hot yoga and Krankcycling (a cycling program for the upper body). Casady said the focus of the fitness center is on “functional training,” or training that combines exercises to reduce workout time.
There are Wilson’s Fitness Centers in south Columbia on Forum Boulevard and in north Columbia at the northeast corner of Vandiver Drive and East Leslie Lane.
