Brady Deaton and Kattesh Katti
University of Missouri Chancellor Deaton and Katti, professor of radiology and physics in the School of Medicine and the College of Arts and Science and senior research scientist at the MU Research Reactor, were awarded honorary degrees from the Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences in Allahabad, India, on Dec. 9.

Deaton was honored for his contributions in the field of agricultural economics and his leadership as the chairman of the board for International Food and Agricultural Development.

Katti was honored for his scientific contributions in the green nanotechnological and nanobiomedical sciences.

Alice Leeper
Leeper was awarded the Denny Douglas Award to recognize her community service and contributions over the years. Leeper has been with RE/MAX Boone Realty since 2007.

Matt McCormick
The Columbia Chamber of Commerce announced the appointment of McCormick as its new president, replacing Don Laird, who retired on Jan. 15, 2013.

Claypole, director of business operations at Jacobs Realty, was awarded the Outstanding Employee of the Year Award at the annual Flame Awards for the St. Louis Chapter of the Institute of

Real Estate Management.

Eldin Caldarevic and Cindy Randolph
Caldarevic and Randolph were promoted to premier services inventory managers for MBS Direct, a division of MBS Textbook Exchange. They are responsible for buying decisions following the established rules for each client school as well as determining correct quantities of course materials to order.

Jack Harper

Jack Harper
Harper, OATS driver, was honored as the recipient of the annual 2012 Safe Driver Award for the mid-Missouri region. Harper was selected to receive the award based on his exemplary commitment to safe driving and outstanding customer service. Harper drives the Columbia route that takes clients to medical appointments and work. He has been with OATS since 2001.

Gerald Brouder
Gerald Brouder, president of Columbia College in Missouri, received the Phillip Sirotkin Award for exemplary leadership in advancing Midwest higher education through interstate cooperation from the Midwestern Higher Education Compact.

“Serving as a Missouri commissioner for MHEC has been a wonderful experience,” Brouder says. “My hope is that in some small way that I have contributed to the advancement of higher education through my service to MHEC. I am truly honored to receive the Sirotkin Award.”
